Featured Program Details
Becoming A Responsible Teen is an evidence-based curriculum designed to reduce risky sexual behaviors and improve safer sex skills among adolescents. Education For Quality Living (EQL), working in partnership with Community Partners For Better Health and the Center for Health Disparities Research at UNLV received federal funding (2009-2013) to develop an enhanced version BART and currently trains community health educators to conduct the intervention which help youth participants clarify their own values and teach technical, social, and cognitive skills. Through discussions, games, videos, presentations, demonstrations, role plays, and practice, EQL trained instructors work with adolescents who learn problem solving, decision-making, communication, behavioral self-management, and condom use skills.
